What is a Copyright?

copyright is a form of intellectual property that gives someone the sole rights to reproduce creative work.

Works that can be copyrighted include:

Literary Works
Musical Works
Dramatic Works
Pantomimes and Choreographic Works
Pictorial, Graphic, and Sculptural Works
Motion Pictures and Other Audiovisual Works
Sound Recordings
Compilations
 
}You cannot cut and paste material without proper footnotes and work cited information. If it is found online, give the web address of the page from which you took the information
}Books have the copyright details on the inside of the first page, usually. Magazines generally list them on the editorial page.
}You must use quotation marks around any non-paraphrased text.
}Generally no more than 1/10 of a work can be used directly.
